Emmaus Åland Summer Camp 1-15 August 2010

See the 2010 work camp blog at http://emmaus2010.blogspot.com

Emmaus Åland annually organises a work camp exclusively for Emmaus
people and those who have a special interest in our movement. We can host
around 15 persons during two weeks. The work, which takes place at Emmaus
Åland in Mariehamn, includes building work, sorting second-hand clothes and loading bales and boxes with second-hand goods to be sent to the kindergarten Cuna Nazareth in Lima, Peru.

We also arrange the annual Hiroshima Day commemoration on the 6th
of August, we take part in the bicycle Peace Race as participants or functionaries and arrange the Emmaus Street Market during the Cultural Night Festival in Mariehamn. The most important happening during the Cultural Night is the Emmaus Fashion Show, a performance in which we, the participants of the Emmaus work camp, perform on stage dressed in different second-hand outfits, together with local recycled models.

During the camp we’ll get to know other Emmaus people, share ideas and
new methods of working together. The camp programme also includes sauna
bathing, excursions, study visits and biking tours. Emmaus Åland covers
costs for food, lodging and the planned programme.

Please fill in the attached application form (www.emmaus.ax/camp) and send
